How Anthony Drake & Associates used HALOS footage to help stop a high-six-figure liability claim

Anthony Drake & Associates
Private Security
Founded in 2018 by retired LAPD officer Anthony “Tony” Drake, PSP, Anthony Drake & Associates provides security across corporate events, construction sites, residential properties, churches, healthcare facilities, and other high-risk environments.
With 45–50 full-time employees, 200+ part-time team members, and approximately 30 HALOS users, the company needed a body camera solution that could provide reliable evidence without adding complexity for frontline security personnel.
The challenge
Anthony Drake & Associates had previously relied on inexpensive off-the-shelf body cameras. As the business grew, reliability, durability, and access to footage became increasingly important.
The company needed a solution that could:
- Reliably capture critical incidents
- Give management fast access to footage
- Be simple for guards to use
- Provide clear evidence when incidents or claims were disputed
“The real cherry on top was the access to storage.
That was the deal.”
— Anthony “Tony” Drake, PSP, President, Anthony Drake & Associates

The Solution
Anthony Drake & Associates deployed HALOS Body Cameras and HALOS Vault across its public-facing security team.
Automatic cloud uploads give authorized managers convenient access to recordings without relying on manual camera transfers, while the cameras are straightforward for frontline personnel to use.
The combination of durability, video quality, accessible cloud storage, warranty coverage, and customer support provided the company with a more professional body camera program as its operations expanded.

The Incident
Just months after deployment, the system was put to the test.
At one of Anthony Drake & Associates’ church accounts, an individual later alleged that security personnel had attempted to handcuff him and caused injuries.
The potential liability claim was high six figures.
HALOS cameras captured the interaction, including the verbal exchange and the individual leaving the property in a police vehicle without the alleged use of force occurring on the property.
Once counsel reviewed the evidence, the matter stopped.
"As soon as counsel got the footage,
the claim was stopped immediately"

The Result
Clear HALOS footage supported Anthony Drake & Associates’ account of what happened and helped stop a high-six-figure liability claim once counsel reviewed the evidence.
For the company, one incident was enough to demonstrate the financial value of having reliable video evidence available when the stakes were highest.
HALOS now gives Anthony Drake & Associates a more reliable way to:
- Protect the company against disputed claims
- Document critical incidents
- Access evidence quickly
- Provide additional context when accounts differ
- Support employees with reliable video evidence

More Complete Incident Visibility
With HALOS Swarm, multiple cameras can help capture an incident from different officers’ perspectives, providing additional context during fast-moving situations.
The technology can also reinforce situational awareness by making officers conscious that an incident is being recorded.
“When you know that your body cam just turned on, that kind of brings you back. It grounds you and gets everybody in the right mindset.”
— Anthony “Tony” Drake, PSP, President, Anthony Drake & Associates
